Spring Sports are just around the corner, bringing many athletes back for another season.
“I’ve been in it since 7th grade, so this will be my 4th season,” Alex Guntzel, from the Track and Field team, said.
“This is my eighth season,” Keilana Sonntag, a Trap athlete, said. “I’ve been in it since seventh grade.”
A new season brings new goals for our athletes, ranging from better throwing distance to breaking records.
“I’m going for 120 feet for discus and then the current school record in shot put is 34 feet and I’m hoping to break that as well,” Lucy Hanson said.
Sonntag is aiming for a perfect score,
“My goal for this season is to break fifty,” she said.
These big goals will set the stage for a big season to look forward to this year.
Sports are more than just a place to work and stay active. Many people find long lasting friendships and life skills while participating.
“It’s the community factor,” Sonntag said. “You make friends, you have this family.”
“Sports give you a lot of connections with people and teaches you determination,” Guntzel said.
Sports can play a big role in many lives and schools along with bringing many benefits. If you are thinking about joining keep a look out for the upcoming future seasons.
