This year, the Spectrum’s football team came into the homecoming game with an extraordinary 5-1 record being one of their best seasons from this past couple of years. This young team has ensured to make an impact by showing off their discipline, effort, and hard work into this year’s season compared to past ones.
“We’ve bled for like we talked about, we bled for a couple years leading up to this point. It was a grind and we have a lot of the same people in this locker room that suffered through a couple really tough seasons and they have a lot to be proud of. They’ve been grinding all year and they’re starting to reap the benefits,” said Offensive Coordinator, Parker Stockwell.

With the pressure from the homecoming game every player made sure to leave their mark in the field no matter the circumstances. This year’s hard work has not just been shown from the results in the field but also from the right mentality that the players have. This is a key factor on how different they have been managing this season. Without the right mentality it will be very hard for these young players to showcase hunger in the game.
“We have a standard to hold against any team but especially a team like this so going in here 5-1 is like, losing isn’t really an option. We have our standards set pretty high right now, we are hoping to keep that,” said Senior Varsity Player, Owen Carlson.
“The first game we got our first win in 2 years that it was a lot of fun. We just kinda continued to work hard and keep working hard to keep winning,” said Senior Varsity Player, Aaron Daniels.
The Spectrum team went into the homecoming game and showed their hunger of winning by pulling off an impressive 48 to 0 score against the Pact Panthers. Each one of the players gave everything they got and showed the results of their hard work throughout this whole season. They have created an impact by showing that no matter the obstacles it is very important to work hard for your goals and show that working as a team, anything can be possible. These young boys have made sure to show their love for their game, their positiveness for the game, and make the coaches proud.

“I played really well, I had three touchdowns, and that I scored my first touchdowns of my varsity career so far, “said Senior Varsity Player, Brandon Simonovich.
“I think the boys did well. We put up 48, held them to nothing. It’s what we expected to do. We have a good group of seniors and they’re an up and coming program,” said Varsity Head Coach, Scott Gangl.
“The mentality is a lot better and people are getting off the ball and they’re trying and they’re working a lot harder than they were last year,” said Senior Varsity Player, Eli Chickering.
With lots of energy and positive minds, these team has made everyone proud and have sure showed their passion for the game. Now with one less game in the season, the team is starting to focus into sections since there is only one game left of the regular season.

“We won a regular season game, everyone walks into the playoffs 0 and 0. So, we got to make sure we’re ready to execute come postseason. But the confidence from this game is going to be huge for us,” said Coach Stockwell.
No matter the outcome, these team will keep improving and working hard for their goals. The impact will be made on and off the field.
