Last year, the girls softball team had only one loss during their 2025 season. This allowed Spectrum’s team to rise in the rankings up to second place. The girls have kept in mind the previous season, and the pressure has been high. With the weight of all this pressure, the girls have found out how to keep their head in the game while still keeping their minds set on success and achieving higher goals than the previous year.

The softball team’s success last year has made them very well known by other teams, and their wide recognition has created stronger opponents. To combat this, the team has been going the extra mileto push past their limits, has been practicing nonstop to sharpen every skill, and is giving it their very all in every game to push towards their goals.

“I think we want to like, blaze our own trail with this team” said Cassidy Colbert, a senior captain of the softball team. This team wants to have their own unique success, similar but still different from last year. Each girl has their own goal for what they hope to achieve during this season yet they all have one objective they share as a whole: everyone definitely wants to go back to state. This one major objective unites every girl on the softball team, allowing them to connect and come together to win. These girls help each other keep a steady mindset while still striving towards the finish line of their season

9th grade softball player Ella Burquest said that wha helps the team deal with the pressure is “coming into practices and knowing that we have to have that mindset of we want to win”. She knows what everyone is striving for, “we want to do what we did last year again,” said Burquest. Every bit of pressure to repeat and surpass what was achieved last year placed on each and every girl on this team, has the ability to affect the team as a whole. Yet, the softball team continues to strive on and keep their minds focused and engaged so they may achieve the victory they all strive for.
