Welcome to Daddy O’s, the perfect destination for anyone near downtown Elk River. As soon as you walk through the door, you’ll find yourself back in the 1950’s. Jeff Krugers, the owner of Daddy O’s, told us that “Daddy O’s began as a Mexican franchise called Taco Town, established in 1966 in Brooklyn Center. Since then, the restaurant has gone through a few name changes to finally become Daddy O’s in 1995.”

Daddy O’s is stocked full of charming decorations and 1950’s memorabilia, ranging from Elvis to the leg lamp from “A Christmas Story.” Sarah Moberg, an employee at Daddy O’s, tells us that she loves the Elvis statue at the front of the restaurant. Moberg told us about the Elvis statue, and said, “I think it’s just that one thing everybody sees.” These items have been collected by Krugers over the years, brought in from his own house or bought from different shops and other such places over the years. Fully embracing the theme, Daddy O’s can always be heard playing music from the 50’s and serving up delicious malts and milkshakes.

Daddy O’s cafe has brought in many regulars over the years, people who love the food, the aesthetic, and the friendliness of the staff. The relationships made here are special, with long time customers and Krugers’ two sons both meeting their wives at Daddy O’s. So when you’re in the area, be sure to stop in for some food and to enjoy the scenery. This has been Savannah and Gavin, Noise News.
