The office staff does a lot of work to keep the school running year round, but in order to keep things going there are many small details to be taken care of.
Each of the Office staff have unique roles and responsibilities. From handling banking, event planning, and athletics, each of their days look different depending on the season.
“There’s a lot of difference in my days because the events are all different and they come up and we only have one of these events a year, whether it’s be graduation, the fine arts concerts, parent-teacher conferences that are coming up. So, I’m always working on these big events and once the event comes, then I’m moving on to the next things,” said Brianna Notsch, the Volunteer and Event Coordinator.
With their different roles they are able to work together and still help each other accomplish more than if they were alone. This hasn’t always been the case, as the office has grown over the years.
Deana Bondy the Activities and Transportation Administrative assistant said, “When this building opened, I was interviewed for the position and stepped into immediately in the summer. And at that time we were doing a lot of hats. There wasn’t as many of us in the office. And so my one daughter had graduated. My other three kids came on board here. Our two sons moved over and so I just started from there thinking I was gonna be part-time and here I am 15 years later full-time and four kids graduated from here.”

The office can be a busy place with all of these responsibilities. There are often students coming in and out with different needs. And the office staff is able to help solve many different types of problems. This keeps them very busy though.
“We can be busy all the time. And so, if there’s a point in time that we maybe don’t get back to an email or we don’t respond to your things as quickly, that’s hard for me to not do that. I went from a person of being zero on my email list to sometimes thousands… we are always doing the best that we can and um we want the best for the students and our jobs, but we wear a lot of hats and so we can’t always fulfill all the needs in the speed or the desire that they may have,” said Bondy.
Even though they are busy they love their jobs.
There’s always something to do. I love the people that I work with. And of course, I don’t get to interact with you guys that much, maybe sometimes when I help out in the lunchroom. But I just love the atmosphere. Yeah. I love the atmosphere of the school and the, you know, the kids,” said Mary Chaffin, the Business Accounts Specialist.
“There’s so much that goes into just one event and then it comes and then it’s gone. So, it is very fun. It’s very fun,” Notch said.
“Just being a place here that hopefully can bring an extra smile,” said Bondy.
The office helps to bring a smile to make everyone’s day just a bit better so the kids can keep working hard on their education.
