The beginning of the year is important to some people. For many of the United States it is the Super Bowl. This years super bowl was held at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, California. It was played by the Seattle Seahawks from the NFC and the New England Patriots from the AFC. Before this the Patriots had won 6 Superbowl’s and the Seahawks had won 1 Superbowl.

The MVP of the Superbowl was Kenneth Walker III. He rushed for 135 yards, 27 carries and 26 receiving yards with 2 catches. Some people think he should have not won the MVP. People say that the kicker Jason Myers should have won MVP. He had a total of 17 points. He scored the first 12 points for Seattle. He broke the Superbowl record of field goals going 5-5. This has taken up a lot of controversy around the NFL.

On the other side of the ball, the Patriots where heart broken. They went from a 4-13 record to a 14-3 record in just a year. They got a new head coach Mike Vrabel. It took him just the off-season to turn this team around. He coached for 2 teams before becoming the head coach of the Patriots. He won coach of the year for what he did. Turning a lower ranking team last season to one of the best. He is tied for the best turnaround for an NFL team ever. He played for 3 NFL teams before becoming a coach, the Patriots were one of the teams he played for.

Both teams last year did not make the playoffs. The Seattle Seahawks went 10-7. This made them the first ever NFL team to win 10 games and not get into the playoffs.

This year was Drake Maye’s first year as a starting QB. Drake was the back up in 2024, coming out of UNC. It was also Sam Darnold’s first year playing for the Seahawks. Sam has played for 4 different teams before he played for Seattle.
